Bishop Elementary is built upon community and focused upon preparing our children for the future.  Everything we do is done with the child in mind.  Our community works collaboratively to provide an environment for the academic, social, and emotional growth of each child.

The Cornerstones of Bishop
Community
Bishop is a place where adults and children care about, look after, and root for one another. Through various community partnerships, Bishop provides extra tutoring time, mentors, classes for adults, extra curricular activities, social events and adding to the grounds.
Guaranteed Curricula

Being competent is the goal – with literacy being first and essential. All children are expected to be proficient in the written and spoken word, as well as mathematics and the arts. The arts are used to enhance learning in other subject areas. Students must be well informed through study in various fields of knowledge such as science and social studies. Staff matches the expected learning outcomes of the District with the needs of each child using consistent materials from kindergarten through fifth grade.
Culture for Learning
Bishop staff strives to help children feel competent in what they can do and what challenges they need to overcome. A safe and orderly environment is maintained to provide the backdrop for optimal learning. Technology is a tool used frequently and effectively by all. An alternative calendar best meets the needs of our students providing 175 school days throughout the year. To lessen the number of days off in the summer, breaks are taken in October, March and May. School is in session during June.
Commitment to Character
Students’ ethics and sense of integrity are important. Being caring individuals is expected. Expectations, rather than a set of rules, are used to create an environment that provides the opportunity for Bishop students to learn to be caring citizens and persons of integrity for life.
